Chevrolet has promoted many improvements in vehicles over the years. Chevrolet engineers and designers made numerous changes to the early V8 pickups for model years 1956 to 1959.
The 265 cubic inch Trademaster V8 was given an optional four-barrel carburetor which increased its horsepower output. Chevrolet pickups led all other manufacturers in sales every year of the Early V8 Pickup Era.
Chevrolet 1975 models were distinguished by a grille with larger internal rectangles along with a restyled tailgate. In the year 2000, GM's new family of V8 truck engines were drafted for heavy duty. The Vortec
6000 grew stronger for 2001, as horsepower went up to 320 and torque to 360 pound-feet.
