In 2007, Jeep introduced two new entry models, the Jeep Compass and the Jeep Patriot. The Compass is designed to be an on-road model while the Patriot, with selected upgrades, can be used for some off-roading tasks.
The Patriot is also the larger of the two vehicles and both are built with the same platform as the Dodge Caliber. Jeep believes there is a customer base for these new models.
